Quote of the Day

The only thing a Republican likes more than his money is the sound of his own voice, and he really can't get enough of either.

The disrespect shown by self-labelled liberals for the intelligence and motives of people who are politically conservative is aggravating (this example reminds me of many in the past.) When will you realize that both Republicans and Democrats believe they are doing what is best for the the entire country. Unfortunately, neither group has the monopoly on power-seeking and corrupt politicians.

This reminds me of someone very close to us, one guess who it is. that's right our very own little princess Reilly Kate.

In response to Tami's comment, the disrespect shown by self-labelled conservatives for the intelligence and motives of liberals is equally aggravating (Ann Coulter's "Treason" comes to mind); but I wasn't referring to politicians anyway, just the rank and file blowhards I have to deal with on a daily basis. --Mike

So, Mike, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em? How about rising above the disrespectful comments and just agreeing to disagree?

As a minority conservative in some situations and a minority moderate/feminist in others on a daily basis, I find both "sides" cause ill-will by name calling.

Shalom,
Tami

I don't know from U.S. politics. All I get is from Letterman, Colbert and the Daily show. But I get a day off tomorrow cuz it's election day where I live. To ME that's the best thing about politics. Sure wish I could believe Tami though...

Well, Tami, I've tried turning the other cheek in the interests of agreeing to disagree, but found that only gets you slapped again. The archtypical, hyper-opinionated conservative views silence as consent, or weakness, both of which just lead to more hot air. I guess I've finally become old enough to be crotchety, call a spade a spade, and refuse to suffer fools well--Mike

Mike,

I sure wish I had made it to The Gathering. I would have like to share a beer and a conversation with you (as well as with the ladies.)

Take care,
Tami
