Slight Name Change

No, not really. But according to Roman.

As you may recall from this post, Roman prefers to use "ME" in place of "I." It's a quirky little habit that I'm assured he will outgrow. Developmental milestone and all that yada yada bullshit.

Anyway, he tells us that Irina's name is... MErina. It's very funny. I've tried to record it on video, but each time I do, MErina starts to cry. I don't think she likes the name change.

The Cure!

Yes, I've found the cure for gravida infinitum. It is natalis fetus gigantus.

This I have accomplished.

Announcing the arrival of Irina Kealoha at 12:12am, February 14. Born at home with her siblings to welcome her.

Are you ready for the measurements?

10lbs 10oz (after a rather healthy poop all over Mama!) 22 inches long.

For your amusement... some pictures:

No more suspense!

No need to keep checking to see if I've had the baby yet. I've been (self) diagnosed with rare condition -- gravida infinitum. I will be pregnant forever.

Carry on with your lives. Don't worry about me and my ever growing belly and accompanying stretch marks. I'm off to form a support and political interest group for people like me. We have rights, too, ya know.

Tap tap tap... Is this thing on?

I'm well aware that it has been a long time since I've written a word on this here blog. I'm guilty of neglect. But honestly, I've been a bit busy.

We bought a house, just two weeks from viewing, to offer, and close. Then came all of our household goods. We're just about unpacked now. We still have odds and ends laying all over the place and haven't hung a thing on the walls as of yet.

And then there is the matter of illness. Those of you who don't move around much haven't a clue what I'm talking about. But those that do, especially those that move around geographically, you know how you get hit time and again with the crud. It's the moving crud. And it is merciless. So far the kids have each been hit twice, the parents just once. Reilly Kate is just getting over the worst of it. Poor thing.

Lastly, of course, is the impending birth. I'm still carrying her around my midsection, along with about 40 lbs of famine insurance (read: FAT). I've reached that size where people just stop and stare uncontrollably. I'm a side show freak at this point. I'd post a picture to share but the camera is full and I'm not sure which pile the cable is in to upload the damn pictures to the computer. Which means, if I don't find it soon, we might not even have pictures of the birth or baby.

I'm tired and worn down and huge and uncomfortable. I'm also typing this up on a laptop while sitting on a birthing ball. It's not fun.

But I just wanted to let you all know that we're alive and well and I will get back to blogging soon. Just as soon as I have something interesting to say.
